Our A’s to your Q’s…
What bind off method do you recommend for shawls?
Great bind off for shawls is the russian/lace bind off. It’s very simple and gives a nice, stretchy outcome.
It goes like this: k1, * k1, knit the 2 stitches on the right hand needle together through back loop, repeat from * until only 1 stitch remains. Here’s a helpful video by Laura Nelkin on YouTube. Another great method is Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off.
I’m having a hard time keeping track of right side and wrong side rows. Any tips?
Good idea is to add an extra marker to the beginning of the right side row to know which is which on reversible patterns.
