Railings shawl pattern from Woolenberry

Here’s my new Railings, just in time for spring! Isn’t it beautiful?

Designing and knitting Drops of Joy really put me in the mood for one skein crescent shawls, so I couldn’t help but knit another Railings.

And it was such a pleasure to knit from a pattern.

No need to do any math or solve any problems. To just enjoy the stitches flowing from one needle to another and feel the yarn running between my fingers.

I love how the same design can look completely different in different yarns and colours.

This time, I chose Madelinetosh Tosh Sock (100% Merino; 361 m / 395 yds per skein) in Calligraphy.

I’ve used the same yarn in my Rosewater shawl, so I knew I’d love the colour. And it worked so well for Railings, too, don’t you think?

If you want to put Railings on your own needles, you’ll be glad to know that I’ve updated the pattern for you.

Among other things, it now has helpful headlines for each section to visualise the knitting, and instructions for a suggested bind off.

There’s also optional charted instructions for those who like using charts. But don’t worry, complete written instructions are still included, as always.

If you’ve already purchased Railings, you have received an email with a link to download the updated pattern. You can also access the new file from your Ravelry library.

If you don’t have Railings yet, show your pattern library some love and cast on. Happy knitting!
