The 2022 Shawl Club collection includes 4 shawl patterns; First Blooms, Flourish, Flying South and Quiet Days.

The patterns were initially released one by one in May, June, September and December 2022.

First Blooms

First Blooms is a light and airy one skein wonder for fingering weight yarn. The allover eyelet pattern is fun and easy to knit. And there’s no purling!

The lace is worked on the right side only, and the pattern is easy to memorise after the first few rows. The picot bind off adds a delicate detail to the border.

You work this asymmetric triangle shawl diagonally from one tip to the opposite edge. The size is easy to modify, simply work the pattern repeat until you reach your desired size.

You’ll need about 330 m / 361 yds of fingering weight yarn.

Shown with Eden Cottage Yarns Hayton 4ply (80% merino, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon; 350 m / 380 yds per 100 g)  in colour Ice.

The pattern has complete written instructions and optional charted instructions for the eyelet pattern.

Flourish

Flourish is a weightless and ethereal rectangle shawl with simple lace and garter stitch.

The diagonally shifting stitch patterns add movement and interest to the shawl.

Both ends have delicate fishnet lace with narrow garter stitch stripes. The centre of the shawl has eyelets sprinkled along the garter stitch. And there’s no purling!

You work Flourish on the bias with increases on one edge and decreases on the other, creating a fun parallelogram shape with tapered ends.

You can easily adjust Flourish to different sizes and yarn amounts to make it entirely your own.

You’ll need about 760 m / 830 yds of lace weight yarn.

Shown with Fyberspates Gleem Lace (55% BFL wool, 45% silk; 800 m / 874 yds per 100 g) in colour Copper Tones.

The pattern has both written and charted instructions.

Flying South

Flying South is a warm and cosy wrap with a minimal and delicate look. It has a simple and beautiful eyelet pattern on stockinette stitch.

You work the shawl diagonally from one tip to the opposite edge of the triangle. I-cord bind off adds a clean and finished look.

This shawl is easily adjusted to different sizes and yarn amounts. And it’s so relaxing to knit. Perfect knitflix project!

You’ll need about 636 m / 696 yds of DK weight yarn.

Shown with Brooklyn Tweed Arbor (100% wool; 133 m / 145 yds per 50 g) in colour Arabesque.

The pattern has both written and charted instructions.

Quiet Days

Beauty lies in simplicity. Quiet Days is a rectangle shawl with garter stitch and simple eyelet pattern.

It’s effortless and entertaining to knit with no purling. Stitch by stitch, row by row, relax into the calming rhythm of your growing shawl.

The overall look will depend on your yarn choice. Rustic or sleek? Drape or structure? Bright and bold or a neutral tone?

You’ll need about 760 m / 830 yds of fingering weight yarn.

Shown with Tukuwool Fingering (100% wool; 195 m / 213 yds per 50 g) in colour Ujo.

The pattern has both written and charted instructions.
