Stella shawl pattern from Woolenberry

Stella is a simple yet stunning shawl with lots of possibilities for colour play.

You work this crescent shaped shawl by alternating blocks of garter stitch and eyelet lace. Stella is knitted from the top down with two colours of fingering weight yarn.

The garter stitch showcases the subtleties of hand dyed yarn while the lace sections keep this large wrap airy and lightweight.

The pattern has complete written instructions and optional charted instructions for the lace.

You’ll need two colours of fingering weight yarn for Stella. One skein of each colour is enough (343 m / 375 yds of C1 and 217 m / 237 yds of C2).

I chose Madelinetosh Tosh Sock (100% merino wool; 361 m / 395 yds per skein) in colours Cove (C1) and Smokestack (C2) for mine. What’s your combo?
