Parasol is that project you reach for when you want something simple, but not boring.
It’s all garter stitch with a playful twist on decorative eyelets. The eyelet bands alternate asymmetrically across the centre line, adding movement and visual interest.
No overthinking. No purling. Just one skein of fingering weight yarn and smooth, satisfying rows from cast-on to bind-off.
The kind of project that reminds you why you love knitting in the first place.
Yarn
One skein of Malabrigo Yarn Sock (100% merino wool; 402 m / 440 yds per 100 g). Shown in colour Turner.
Or approximately 400 m / 437 yds of similar fingering weight yarn.

Size 4 mm / US 6 needles or size that gives you pattern gauge
This shawl is worked flat, but I recommend using 80 – 100 cm / 32 – 40 inch circular needles to accommodate the growing number of stitches.
